The book of the Underwater Life in Istanbul is made of the Project by the same title in 2006. This is the first published book to document the underwater life of waters around Istanbul.

The photographs that have found place in the book were all taken in the waters of Bebek, Ortaköy, İstinye, Çengelköy, Anadolu Lighthouse, Türkeli Lighthouse, Haliç (Golden Horn) and Maiden’s Tower as well as Adalar (Islands) district, Burgazada, Büyükada, Balıkçı adası, Sivriada and Yassıada.

The 257 photographs in the book were refined from the 3060 underwater and 4100 land photographs.

Along with the dives in the Bosporus Strait like Anadolu Lighthouse, Ortaköy, Bebek and Çengelköy, the frequent bumps into the sea horses which are hopelessly in the list of endangered species were most exhilarating. Many other species and return of listed commercially important ones noted the stubborn hooking of the species onto the life. Schools of dolphins frolicked after the shoals of fish, indicating the productivity of the same life.

The nudibrach, documented in the waters of Haliç (The Golden Horn) suggested hope. It was the same Golden Horn in which no living creature could have survived in recent years very due to the heavy pollution. Mating craps and the vast amount of larval forming in the water samples of the Golden Horn planted hope into the future.

The book, published by A4 Ofset is of 224 pages “mango” paper, 23cm x 30cm in size which is presented in its special hard cover and a pair of 3D spectacles to view 11 special 3D photographs.
